Getting started
|
The first thing you need to do is make any adjustments to the photo then get the dimensions.I do my cropping etc. at Photopoint. You can open an account there by forwarding an e-mail with photo attachments to photos@pantellic.com or you can just go there and open an account.Keep in mind when cropping that the frame has to be the same size as the photo then composited over it so allow space around the image.I create my own backgrounds at Zy.com. You can use any image you choose if you do not wish to make your own.

Creating backgrounds at Zy.com

After you login, select File Store. On the next screen, select graphics and on the next select Backgrounds. Select the background texture you like and click on it.Select your color and when you are satisfied, click on the image, click on it again, and you will have the address.Press go to then select show current.Hold cmd and press a to highlight the address then c to cut it because you need to enter it at Image Magic next.

Making the frame
|
I have made a supplemental page to further explain this procedure with examples.First, you need the height and width of your photo.Go to Image Magick and enter your background address then press view. When the next page loads,at the top right click on resize.Enter the picture dimensions with an exclamation after.(in my example it would be 120x152!)Leave it on zoomand press resize.Next,go to the top and click on draw. The primitive will be fill elipse. The cordinates are the center coordinates(divide width and height by two) the width and height of the elipse and the start and end of arc.In my example it would be 60,76 110,136 0,360 .Go down and enter a color (I usually make it black)then select draw .You should have the image load with the elipse. Now we need to go below to paint.Click on color and change it to matte and method should be floodfill.I put zeros in the other blanks.Click on the image then click on the elipse and when it reloads it should be transparent. At the top, click on output.Go down and select gif for your output form, single file then click output below.Click on the image and transload it to your site.Important:If you output this as a jpg or if you try to take it straight back to Image Magick, the transparency reverts back to the color you originally selected.Transload it then get the address from your website to go back and compsite. You are now ready to go back and composite.

Composite and frame
|
Go to Image Magick and enter the address of your photo and select view.At the top, select compsite.Enter the the address of your frame. The composite operation should be over, then select composite below. You should have it load.Select output at the top,I have always selected this format as jpg so I don't know if gif would work, output then transload this to your site.If you try bringing the IM address back in,the frame comes out transparent like the last image below for some reason.Get this address from your website and bring it back to Image Magick to put a frame around it.Enter the address and select view.Select decorate at the top.The decoration geometry on my photo below is 15x15+5+5 You can experiment with these numbers to suit yourself. The 15x15 is the frame size and the +5+5 are the inner and outer angled portions.Click on color and select a color from this list for your frame.Press back and enter your color selection. If the radio button for frame is not highlighted, click on it.Click on decorate. This should give your finished product.Select output at the top,I always output as jpg,I don't know if gif works or not, select output, click on the image, and take it to the transloader.
